LATEST NEWS: We have just come back to Nashville after a trip to New Zealand and Australia. I was pleased to be able to entertain 5 hours north of Sydney.
In March of this year I was awarded 'Female International Entertainer2006' and 'International Female Vocalist 2006', for the North American Country Music Assn, International. My co-writer friend Nigel Lee from Auckland and I also won 'Best International Bluegrass song 2006'.
In preparation for the Paihia Jazz Festival I attended in 2005, I created a compilation CD of all the swing songs I have recorded over the years. This CD is called 'Swing'n'Things' and is available, as are all my other CDs, through this website.
During the last 2-3 years I have become friends with an excellent acoustic guitarist by the name of Richard Smith from England. We have done several gigs together, the most recent was at Ellendale's Restaurant here in Nashville, about a week ago. I have some more of those up my sleeve as I really enjoy singing when he plays. Richard went down to the Paihia Country Festival with me in 2005.
Brian and I have now become U.S. citizens so there were great celebrations for that. Now I now have my feet firmly planted in three countries - New Zealand, the U.S. and in Australia too.
I now have an account on 'My Space' so feel free to become a friend. The address is www.myspace.com/sallyburgess
Till next time, be safe and be happy...

Last Newsletter I recently entered the 'International Female Vocalist and Entertainer of the Year' and 'International Album of the Year' with the North American Country Music Assn, International. I was pleased to retain the titles of International Female Entertainer and Vocalist for 2004. Nigel Lee and I were also successful in winning the International Songwriter award for 2004.
I have recorded a new CD titled 'All of this and More' and released it at Paihia. This may be obtained by contacting me from this site.
I will be down in Auckland at the beginning of May and guest appearing at the Paihia Festival on the weekend of the 7th May.
I will also be going on to Australia for gigs in Sydney in June.
This year seems to be busier than ever. I am still planning to do those voice over demos I intended to last year - you know how these things go! With the 20% NZ content on air, I am trying to get my songs into radio stations but this can be a very difficult thing to do. I have a couple of good radio interviews lined up so I will see what happens.
Looking forward to seeing everyone in Auckland and Sydney..........
